We are in our next unit for the month of May! This month we are learning about the outdoors. Animals, bugs, plants and weather are all topics we will be exploring this month. We are going to continue reading the Very Hungry Caterpillar this month, since it relates to this theme and the kids really enjoyed the book! We will also be reading Little Cloud, Mouse's First Spring, and The Very Busy Spider.
This past week we finished up our five senses unit. We made "texture turtles", colored with scented markers, painted with kool-aid, and made lemon scented ice cream cones! This week we will be working very hard on our Mother's Day presents, and the following week we will start our Outdoors arts and crafts.
We are also practicing our songs for our end of the year show. This year we are going to sing songs with the Spunky Monkey classroom. We share our playground time with the Spunky Monkeys in the afternoon, and the kids really enjoy spending time together, so we will share part of our end of the year party with them, and then we will come back to our classroom at the end and watch our slideshow. We're working very hard on our songs but....they're going to be a surprise!!!
I realized that I haven't included photos in awhile, so later this week I will add a blog post with all of our pictures!
