Dear Families,

I apologize for the January hiatus!  In the month of February, we’ve been talking about
Community Helpers.  We learned that our community is Burlington, and that community
helpers are people who live or work in Burlington to help us.  Some community helpers
we’ve talked about are teachers, librarians, firefighters, police officers, mail carriers,
doctors/nurses, veterinarians, dentists, chefs, and farmers.  We’ve also talked about
places in our community where we can visit, such as Town Hall, the Library, the park,
school, the police station, the fire station, stores, restaurants, and the supermarket.
This week we are learning about the kinds of tools and transportation our community
helpers need to do their jobs. Here are the books we will be reading this week.
