Barnyard Buddies 2017-2018 school year!

Dear Families,

I want to welcome you to the Barnyard Buddies classroom! We are very excited to get our 2017-2018 school year underway. Almost all of our friends this year are new to the Burlington Early Childhood Center, so we're spending the first few weeks getting to know our friends, establishing our classroom routines and expectations, and assessing where our kids' skills are so that we may plan more effective instruction. We've had a great first week! It looks like we have a great group of students who all seem to be getting along very well. Again, here is our classroom schedule.

8:30-8:50 Playground

8:50-9:00 Arrival Time

9:00-9:20 Circle Time

9:20-10:00 Choice Time/Bathroom time/1:1 work time with Shannon

10:00-10:20 Snack time

10:20-10:35 Story time

10:35-10:55 Small groups

10:55-11:20 Music

11:20-11:30 Dismissal

12:30-12:50 Playground

12:50-1:05 Story

1:05-1:25 Small Groups

1:25-1:50 Circle Time

1:50-2:10 Choice time/Snack time/Bathroom

2:10-2:20 Music

2:20-2:30 Dismissal

Next week we are starting our class jobs. On Friday, students chose one of the following classroom jobs to help out around our classroom.

Small Groups Helper- Helping staff set up tables for work time and choice time
Fish Feeder-Helping feed our classroom pet fish
Messenger- Delivers the attendance to the secretary and makes copies and delivers other messages as needed
Table Cleaner- Helping staff clean the tables with a sponge and soap after snack time
Bell Ringer- Rings the 5 minute warning bells for the end of choice time
Line Leader-Leads the line to playground, bathroom, etc.
Caboose- Is the last friend in line to playground, bathroom, etc.
Substitute Helper- Helps out when a student with a job is not in school that day
